Recent Decisions from Washington, D.C.

Washington is noisy, yet policy is still moving. Medicare’s 2026 payment policy is set, appropriations fights are squeezing the calendar, and the midterm map is already taking shape. When the field is crowded, organized voices win. BAC-PAC is chiropractic’s only federal Super PAC. If we are not at the table, we are not in the bill. This update shows what changed, why it matters to your clinic, and how we are positioning pro chiropractic champions before narratives harden.

Toplines from Washington, D.C.

Physician Fee Schedule 2026
Final numbers are set. Some rates improve for many providers. Medicare coverage for chiropractic remains limited to spinal manipulation when furnished by a DC. Exams, imaging, and active care are still out of reach for seniors under current statute.

Shutdown and appropriations
Short term funding fights slow agency work and compress health policy windows. Well organized coalitions gain oxygen during these weeks. BAC-PAC keeps chiropractic present so our priorities are not pushed aside by larger hospital and medical lobbies.

House defense amendment on base chiropractic access
The House adopted Representative Greg Steube’s amendment that requires the Defense Health Agency to produce a plan to reopen previously closed on base chiropractic clinics and to place chiropractors on the federal General Schedule pay structure. A report is due to Congress by March 31, 2026. This is a practical step toward stable, hands on access for service members and families.

Clinic Impact Corner

Coverage rules in Washington shape operations in your office. Seniors still cannot access exams and active care from DCs through Medicare, which distorts care plans and slows outcomes. Service members and families need dependable on base access, and when that is not available they need clear pathways to community care. Small policy moves in DC become real scheduling and cash flow realities in chiropractic clinics. BAC-PAC exists to translate clinical needs into campaign priorities that lawmakers act on.

Map to 2026

Monitoring early polling, cash on hand, election filing calendars and redistricting.  Identifying districts where a clear chiropractic message can influence outcomes at the margin. Targeting priority contests and the reasons they matter to seniors, to veterans, and patient access to drug free care.

What BAC-PAC is Doing:

  • Supporting Chiropractic Champions, including members with committee leverage and credible voices on access and affordability.
  • Reading the 2026 midterm map to identify places where a pro chiropractic message can decide close races.
  • Holding our ground during the funding fight so hospital and medical coalitions do not take the available oxygen in health policy conversations.
  • Building a broader network across the political landscape to expand our reach and our coalition power.
  • Preparing targeted support and communications so aligned candidates and key staff have what they need before narratives harden.

Impact Spotlight: Veteran Care

We’re advocating for our veterans by promoting timely drug free chiropractic care, and working to ensure access to local chiropractors when military bases or VA facilities lack adequate chiropractic staffing.

  • “[This care] helps me function without more pills.”
  • “Improved sleep.”
  • “[I’m] able to work without constant pain.”
