BAC-PAC: Amplifying Chiropractic Advocacy in the 2026 Midterms
As we prepare for the 2026 midterms, it’s crucial to understand how political action committees (PACs) and Super PACs operate—and why BAC-PAC chose the Super PAC model to maximize our impact.
Traditional PACs: Precision Support
Traditional PACs have been the backbone of political advocacy for decades. They can contribute directly to candidates, but are limited in how much they can raise and donate. For the 2025–2026 cycle, a traditional PAC can give a federal candidate up to $5,000 per election ($5,000 for the primary and $5,000 for the general election). These funds come exclusively from individuals, and PACs are generally prohibited from accepting corporate or union treasury funds.
Because traditional PACs can coordinate with campaigns, they offer precise, targeted support. Think of them as a scalpel—helping specific champions of chiropractic care by funding their get-out-the-vote efforts or supporting their reelection campaigns.
Super PACs: Broad Reach and Amplification
Super PACs emerged after landmark court decisions in 2010, fundamentally changing political fundraising. Unlike traditional PACs, Super PACs cannot donate directly to candidates or parties. Instead, they raise unlimited funds from individuals, corporations, and unions, and spend independently—running advertising campaigns, sending mailers, or producing digital content that advocates for or against candidates.
Super PACs must operate entirely independently, with strict “no coordination” rules. Think of a Super PAC as a megaphone: while we can’t hand money directly to a candidate, we can amplify our message to the public, educating voters and shaping the conversation around patient access to chiropractic care.
How You Can Help
BAC-PAC is committed to amplifying the voice of chiropractic care in the political arena. By operating as a Super PAC, we can reach more voters, educate the public, and support candidates who champion patient access and professional advocacy.
Your support makes this possible. Whether you contribute, volunteer, or help spread the word, you play a vital role in our mission.
